Misconceptions About CBD

Walk down the street in most city centers these days, and you'll see at least one store selling CBD. There are also many online vendors to choose from. So many people have benefited from this natural, therapeutic, versatile substance, but there are still some people who are skeptical of it or who steer clear of these stores. Most people who are skeptical of CBD or opposed to its use actually hold their opinions due to some common misconceptions — like those below.

Misconception: CBD is illegal.

Even though CBD is being sold everywhere, there are still some people who think it's illegal, the vendors are somehow breaking the law, or the substance is only sold to those with a prescription. But this is not the case at all. CBD derived from hemp is legal in all 50 states. You don't need a prescription to buy it, and those selling it are completely within their legal right to do so.

Misconception: CBD will get you high.

This misconception arises from the fact that CBD can be derived from marijuana plants. In the United States, most of it is derived from hemp, a close relative of the marijuana plant. But CBD is not the component in marijuana that makes people feel high. That's THC. CBD is non-psychoactive, although it does interact with certain cannabinoid receptors in your body to produce therapeutic effects like relief from anxiety and reduction of inflammation.

Misconception: CBD is addictive.

It's not. Once you start using it, you will probably enjoy the relief and want to continue to use it for that reason. However, you will not have any withdrawal symptoms or other problems if you do stop using CBD.

Misconception: CBD is too expensive to use regularly.

You can certainly find expensive CBD products, but there are ways to use this substance at an affordable rate if you are on a tight budget. You can find bottles of CBD oil or CBD tincture for $50 or less, and this bottle can last you a whole month. That's a lot less than you would pay for most prescription medications, and even for a month's worth of some over-the-counter medications.

Now that you know a little more about CBD beyond these common misconceptions, you can be a more informed customer should you decide to try this substance. Visit a CBD store near you soon, and look through the various products. You're likely to find something you enjoy.

About Me

Learning To Cook Healthier

After I realized I had a weight problem, I started focusing on eating a little healthier. The only problem was that I wasn't sure how to cook healthier, since all of my training revolved around fatty dishes that were swimming in cream and butter. Fortunately, a friend of mine took the time to teach me some easy ways to lighten up different dishes. It took a little practice, but after cooking healthier for a few weeks, it became a lifestyle and I started to lose weight. This blog is all about learning to eat and cook a little healthier.
